Airbags are the most fundamental safety feature in cars. They are basically specialised bags with a set of inflators. These inflators are designed to quickly inflate the airbags in the event of a serious collision between vehicles or a road accident. The split-second inflation and timely deployment of airbags can save the driver and passengers from getting hit by any hard objects that can lead to facial, chest and head injuries. Airbags are significant to the safety of driver and passengers of a car as they minimise the risk of deadly injuries in event of an accident. However, it is unfortunate that many of our vehicles do not have this important safety feature. We do not even know how many vehicles lack this life-saving technology.
In a country where many people are killed in road accidents every day, an airbag can literally be a lifesaver. So, we urge the authorities concerned to make front-passenger airbags mandatory for all vehicles. Every vehicle should be fitted with airbags for the person occupying the front seat; otherwise, they will be taken off the roads.
