Exam centres closer to current address

May 28, 2025 00:00:00

For job seekers, government recruitment exams not only bring the pressure of preparation but also the hassle of travel and accommodation. This becomes particularly difficult when exam centres are determined based on permanent addresses. Recently, the Directorate General of Food published a job recruitment circular, which was a re-announcement. Thousands of applicants applied for it. In the past, exams under the Directorate General of Food were held in district or divisional cities, which helped reduce the suffering, travel costs, and effort for many candidates.

However, some candidates reside outside their home districts or divisional cities due to studies or other job commitments. In such cases, attending exams in their permanent address locations causes great inconvenience. Travelling long distances on short notice can also compromise exam performance, especially for those with financial constraints or tight work schedules. During the application process, all candidates provide their current address. Moreover, exams for a particular post under the Directorate General of Food are held on a single day with the same question paper for everyone. Therefore, if exam centres are allocated based on the current address, it would greatly benefit the candidates.

Hence, I earnestly urge the authorities of the Directorate General of Food to seriously consider this matter and hope this step will relieve all job seekers of anxiety and hassles.
