Expanding Bangladesh-China relations

January 26, 2025 00:00:00

Preparations for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Bangladesh-China diplomatic relations are going on in full swing. The relationship between Bangladesh and China is not new; it dates back to 1976. China has been a key partner in the development of Bangladesh, and it is expected to invest billions of dollars in Bangladesh's energy, power, and communication sectors over the next one to one and a half decades.

China believes that the day is not far when it will become the primary investor in Bangladesh. It goes without saying that Bangladesh-China relations have reached new heights. At present, China is involved in constructing large-scale infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, including the establishment of a Chinese Economic Zone in Chittagong.

The enduring friendship between Bangladesh and China is expected to continue to thrive, with both nations playing positive roles in maintaining and enhancing their strong bond of friendship.
