There is a pressing need for the extension of the Metro Rail line from Kamalapur to Khilgaon. While expansion work is currently underway from Motijheel to Kamalapur, it is imperative to consider the substantial population residing in the adjacent areas of Khilgaon, such as Bashabo, Mugda, Nandipara, Matherteck, and Bansree.
The residents of these areas, many of whom commute to offices or conduct business in Uttara and its adjacent regions, face significant challenges in transportation. Travelling from Khilgaon to Uttara via bus is not only time-consuming but also prone to traffic congestion. Introducing a Metro Rail connection from Khilgaon to Uttara would not only alleviate these commuting difficulties but also ensure safer and more efficient travel during peak working hours.
Moreover, Bansree stands out as an overpopulated locality within Dhaka city, housing a large number of individuals employed in various sectors such as banking, government, private enterprises, hospitals, and medical services. Extending the Metro Rail line to Khilgaon would immensely benefit this community by providing a convenient and reliable mode of transportation for their daily commute.
Therefore, it is being urged that the authorities concerned would carefully consider this proposal and undertake a feasibility study to assess the viability of extending the Metro Rail line from Kamalapur to Khilgaon. Taking proactive measures in this regard would not only enhance transportation infrastructure but also contribute significantly to the well-being and productivity of the masses.
