Recently two ruling party activists were killed in crossfire with law enforcing agencies and the incident evoked widespread reactions among people of all walks of life including the leaders and workers of the ruling party itself. Everybody condemned the incident. Both victims were wanted by the law enforcers and one of them was the alleged shooter who fired a gun shot at a pregnant woman that injured her and her unborn child. Another victim was involved in August 15 infighting which left one dead. The stories which come out after every "encounter" appear silly accompanying with childish statements as most people find them difficult to accept. Such extrajudicial killings will not help us establish peace and rule of law in society.
On the contrary, these incidents will edge us further to the road of unrest and conflict. We must throw water on the fire before it engulfs the whole country. I think it is high time the citizens staged a strong protest against all extrajudicial killings. Such incidents will not only present a sad state of affairs to the outside world but will also create a reign of terror inside the country. We must not forget "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"
