On 8 December, an advertisement of Bangladesh Institute of Capital Marketing (BICM) inviting applications for studying 'Post graduate Diploma in Capital Marketing' was published in the Financial Express. It is a one-year course, containing 13 courses including internship after graduation in any discipline. BICM is an autonomous institution. It has been founded to oversee growth of capital market in Bangladesh. The programme fee was mentioned as Taka 99,000. It is laudable that such a professional course has been offered by BICM. But the course fee is so high that very few people can afford it. It will definitely discourage graduates belonging to middle class. An admission fee of Taka 10,000 and monthly fee of Taka 1,000 may be fixed for the course to encourage the aspirants.
I would like to urge the authority concerned to review the programme fee to create opportunity to study Post Graduate Diploma in Capital Marketing for common citizens.
