HAVANA, Jun 8 (AFP): Ailing Cuban President Fidel Castro met Thursday with leftist Bolivian President Evo Morales, who went home immediately after a lightning "working visit," Cuban television said.
As Morales was seen off at Jose Marti international airport by Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage, he told reporters he found Castro "well on the road to recovery."
"I'm leaving very satisfied (with Castro's progress). I found him in great spirits," he added, confirming video images of Castro earlier this week that showed him with more weight and stronger since gastrointestinal surgery 10 months ago.
Castro and Morales met for nearly three hours and spoke, among other things, of the joint health programme called "Miracle" that has provided 90,000 Bolivians with needed eye surgery in Cuba, the television reports said.
