KOLKATA, May 7 (PTI): Fifth phase of West Bengal Assembly polls held peacefully Saturday, no untoward incident was recorded. in 38 constituencies in Bankura, Purulia, West Midnapore and parts of Burdwan districts where the fifth phase of West Bengal Assembly polls is underway. The turnout is good Bankura and Burdwan districts recorded the highest turnout each closely followed by West Midnapore and Purulia districts. An electorate of over 7.42 million will elect their representatives from among 193 candidates, including Health Minister Suryakanta Mishra and West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) president Manas Bhunia.
