As the growing menace of plastic pollution wreaks havoc on the environment, it is imperative to establish the necessary infrastructure for recycling various types of plastic waste in the country.
To achieve this goal, the government and private organisations may collaborate with researchers from different universities to conduct more research and development aimed at exploring opportunities in plastic recycling, which could also create new business opportunities.
Furthermore, as the market for plastic goods continues to expand and more investors pour investment into this sector, the government will need to establish a dedicated plastic and printing industrial estate to support the sector's growth in the country.
Eco-friendly plastic products can be a prime sector for diversifying the country's export basket. Concerned stakeholders, therefore, must prioritise the recycling of plastic goods as there is no alternative to their use for the country's development.
