After 43 years of independence we are yet to achieve a satisfactory literacy rate which is indeed one of our major drawbacks. Education can solve many of our socio-economic problems like, poverty, corruption, lack of good governance, malnutrition etc. Education can help us overcome superstitions and make us confident and self-dependent and help establish peace in society. Education is the best investment in our life. Good education makes worthy citizens and enlightened society.
"Education for all" is a global campaign of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural organization) which aims to fulfil the learning needs of the world by 2015. Due to advent of technology like computer, internet and mobile phones, the common people are now much more aware of the importance of education than any other time before. With the help of our development partners at home and abroad we can make big strides in the education sector. Many of the children of our country are working and are deprived of their right to education and it is sad. We need to make sure that every child goes to school and only then we can expect to see a poverty free Bangladesh. We must not forget that "an investment in education pays the best interest"
