Recently, an American Bangladeshi, Nina Ahmed, has come to the limelight because she has been chosen for American President Barack Obama's 14-member advisory commission on Asian American Pacific Islanders for the first time. Nina Ahmed lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two daughters. It is an honour for the Bangladeshi people, especially for the women.
Today's Bangladeshi women can dream big and scale any height they want. We usually don't read positive news like this. Whenever I read such news, I become hopeful. Women of our country are still lagging far behind  their male counterpart but a woman like Nina inspires to dream big. We cannot think of achieving a prosperous Bangladesh keeping half of our population neglected. The Bangladesh government should give more emphasise on female education and women empowerment so that they can come out of their hibernation. I heartily congratulate Nina and hope she will play her due role for her country of origin in encouraging and influencing the lives of Bangladeshi women.
