Growing youth entrepreneurship
January 26, 2025 00:00:00
Youth entrepreneurship is on the rise in Bangladesh, revealing the innovative skills of the young population. Young people are making a difference in the economy by filling the market gap with new goods and services ranging from e commerce to tech based businesses.
Success stories about local startups like Pathao and ShopUp show what the youth are capable of doing if given an opportunity. Yet, many aspiring entrepreneurs remain constrained due to inadequate financing and lack of entrepreneurial education.
With these are happening, government policy needs to focus on easy access to finance, regulation in a simplified format, and mentorship programmes. The universities can also not lag behind in their role of offering entrepreneurial courses to give students the skill and confidence.
Empowering youth entrepreneurship fosters innovation, job creation, export growth, and economic growth. Investment in our youth is an investment in the future of Bangladesh.
