Healthy dietary solutions for the elders
May 16, 2022 00:00:00
As we grow older, our body undergoes steady deterioration. To cope with this, we must make drastic changes in our lifestyle. First and foremost, the elderly people must cut junk food out of their life. Both sugar and salt in excess can cause harmful lifelong diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Thus, they have to reduce sugar and salt intake.
While many alternatives for sugar are available in the market, it is a challenge to find a substitute for salt. According to some researches, monosodium glutamate, commonly known as MSG, contains significantly less sodium than table salt. Renowned health organisations like the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified MSG as a food ingredient that is generally safe in suitable amounts.
Proper dietary choices can enable even a person over 60 to be relatively healthier than others. Therefore, we must make sure that they are following those dietary plans.
