Helicopter collision kills 7 in Arizona

LOS ANGELES, Jun 30 (AFP): At least seven people were killed and three critically injured Sunday when two medical helicopters collided in Flagstaff, Arizona, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said.

The mid-air collision occurred near a hospital in the city and at least one of the fatalities was a patient, Ian Gregor said.

He said at least seven people were killed as a result of the mid-air collision, but it was not clear if that included any people on the ground.

Local KPHO television said the seven killed included a helicopter pilot and that three other people were critically injured in the accident.
