Helping kindergartens to survive

September 27, 2020 00:00:00

One of the worst sufferers of Covid-19 pandemic in the country is the owners of kindergarten schools. The government announced closure of all educational institutions from March 17 to contain the spread of coronavirus. And, it is still uncertain when and how these institutions would be reopened.

In the meantime, a good number of kindergartens have shuttered their operations. Some others are likely to suffer the same fate if the educational institutions remain closed for a longer period.

These pre-schools, which never received any financial support from the government, are not in a position to pay house rent or salaries of their teachers and staffers. They've been getting no tuition fees from their students since the closure.

So, may I request the education ministry to reconsider its decision and reopen these educational institutions since life has become normal in all other areas? The government may also consider their situation with compassion and provide some grants to the kindergarten schoolsfor their survival.
