Being a job holder at a private firm, I get a fixed salary at the end of every month. Every year, the office management approves a small increase in my salary. But when compared to the overall inflation in the economy, this increment proves to be really insignificant. In fact, I've found out every year that there is less disposable income than the previous year because of inflation.
Due to persistent and high inflation rate, many middle and fixed-income people are passing through difficult times. The price of almost every single product is going beyond the reach of common people.
To control the prices of commodities to some extent, the government can start a rationing system. In such a way, the masses can get daily essentials at fair prices. Rationing system will also help check the market prices as it will work against unscrupulous traders responsible for hoarding and increasing prices.
