Higher budgetary allocation for education

May 10, 2022 00:00:00

The Covid-19 pandemic has already affected our education sector. However, we have not yet seen any specific plans implemented to recover the learning loss created by the pandemic. If we want to change our future and achieve the goals set in the National Education Policy 2010 and Vision 2021, we should invest more in education. We want to believe that our government gives highest priority to the education sector.

We expect that the size of allocation for the education sector will go up significantly in the proposed budget for the next fiscal year. If that happens, it would help contain possible dropouts in schools, which may subsequently cause a rise in child marriage, early pregnancy, and child labour. We also hope that the government will increase budgetary allocations in this sector so that the students can get quality teaching, modern amenities including laboratories, libraries, internet and more at their educational institutions.
