Importance of savings

Most of our children are given earthen banks so that they can grow the habit of saving money early in their life. But it is becoming increasingly difficult for youngsters to save money. With the advent of social media, young people are spending a significant portion of their earnings on maintaining a certain lifestyle.

A recently conducted research shows that almost 70 per cent of our young people do not have any savings. The rising cost of living, poor pay, debt, thoughtless consumption and the ease of digital transactions have made it difficult to save a portion of their money. This can be dangerous in the uncertain times that we live in. Perhaps the philosophy of the earthen bank can be a way out.
