Importance of sleep in healthy living

Many of us have a bad habit of skipping our required sleep as we stay awake till late at night watching television or surfing the internet. As a result, we do not have required sleep and feel drowsy and dreary throughout the day. We must bear in mind that chronic sleep deprivation invites many health hazards. Proper sleep is essential for healthy living as it refreshes our body and prepares us for the next day. Many people in our country suffer from sleep disorder as we fail to establish a routine pattern for our sleep. We should go to bed and wake up every day at the same time, so that our bodies are used to the schedule. Amount of sleep, a person needs may vary, but usually an adult needs 7 to 8 hours sleep per day. I hope we shall realize the importance of sleep in order to lead a healthy life. We should also make sure that our children are get adequate sleep and we should put up a good example before them so that they are encouraged to follow it. We should give importance to having adequate sleep every day so that we can remain strong and healthy.
