Increasing insecurity and lawlessness in society

I completely agree with the slain blogger Avijit's father that the law enforcers have failed miserably to protect the victim or make any tangible breakthrough in this sensational murder case. The inaction of the law enforcers stationed there is mysterious and baffling as they took no action to save the victim and his wife who came under the attack. Our country is becoming increasingly unsafe for the common men and a safe haven for criminals and godfathers. Extra-judicial killings and forced disappearance are on the rise alarmingly.
Opposition leader Salahuddin has disappeared for a few weeks now and his wife has claimed that plain clothed law enforcers arrested him whereas the law enforcers are denying arresting him. Such insecurity and lawlessness is not conducive for establishing peace and maintaining progress in our country.  The government cannot evade its responsibility for its failure to protect citizens like Avijit and Salahuddin. I hope the citizens will wake up and take steps so that peace and tranquility prevails in our society. We cannot call a place our home where killing, crossfire and forced disappearance are rampant. At the end the goal of a government is simple which is providing its citizens with safety and security.
