Insufficient sleep harms our health

Many of us tend to ignore our much-needed sleep and stay awake beyond midnight which leaves an adverse effect on our health. We must realise the importance of adequate sleep. If we are deprived of our required sleep, it has long-term health effects. An adult needs six to eight hours sleep everyday, although it varies from person to person. We often ignore poor sleeping pattern and fail to realise its bad effects. Sleep is as important as proper nutrition and exercise. If we have insufficient sleep, we feel tired for the rest of the day and unwilling to work.
In the same manner, if we sleep late, we wake up tired with unsatisfactory sleep and are generally unwilling to work for the rest of the day. We should therefore make sure that we get required sleep at any cost if we want to keep ourselves healthy. Many of us suffer from sleep deprivation due to our poor sleeping habit. We should make a fixed time schedule of going to bed and waking up and stick to it. Adequate sleep boosts our immunity system, slim us down, prevent diabetes, boost our mental wellbeing and ward off heart diseases. We should help our children follow this practice so that they can build a good sleeping habit and together we can live a healthy life.
