Eight people have been killed in a suicide bombing near the city of Ramadi, in Iraq's Anbar province, west of Baghdad, Iraqi police say, reports BBC.
Several policemen were among the dead. At least 14 other people were injured. Ramadi was formerly an insurgency stronghold but attacks have fallen as Sunni tribal militias have joined the US and Iraqi government forces.
Separately, the US military said an al-Qaeda leader named Abu Ghazwan had been killed in a raid north of Baghdad.
