Bangladeshi people all around the world were waiting breathlessly to see the missing child Jihad being rescued from the 300-feet-deep abandoned and unsealed deep tube well.
When the boy was finally rescued, the joy was short-lived. He could not be rescued alive and the long wait of people across the country, culminated in a tragedy.
Sheer lack of care took away a child's life. Local people rescued the boy's dead body using an indigenous method only 15 minutes after the fire brigade failed and declared the operation closed. It is high time we equipped the fire brigade department with proper equipment and personnel so that they can save victims in times of need.
The country is grateful to the local people who rescued the body of the boy. No amount of sympathy will bring solace to the bereaved family of Jihad. The people who are responsible for this abject failure should be taken into task.
