Nobel laureate economist and Abel Prizing winning Mathematician John Nash has been killed in a car crash along with his wife in New Jersey, U.S.A. on 24th May. Due to the sudden demise of this veteran economist and redoubtable mathematician, a vacuum has already been created in advanced research in the field of Economics and Mathematics. Nash was awarded the Nobel Prize for economics in 1994 (for his 27-page slender thesis paper written in 1949) for his work on game theory and the mathematics of decision-making.
The film "A beautiful mind" was loosely based on his battle with schizophrenia. This genius economist received his Ph.D. from Princeton in 1950 and spent much of his career there and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His remarkable achievements inspired generations of mathematicians, economists and scientists who were influenced by his brilliant and groundbreaking work in game theory.
