It is alarming to learn that one in every seven persons in the country is suffering from kidney problems. Every year 40,000 people die of kidney-related diseases.  The situation will turn worse in the next ten years if preventive measures are not taken, and the general people do not become aware about it.
Adulteration of foods is aggravating the situation. Many kidney patients live on regular dialysis and it is a very costly method of survival. Everyone cannot afford it. Lack of awareness is one of the reasons for the growing numbers of kidney failure.
Kidney patients many times receive a kidney from a relative of theirs. They can live a good life. We must prevent and control diabetes to save our kidneys and maintain good health. Poor eating habits, obesity and smoking, drinking alcohol are associated with kidney diseases. Chemical-laden food items are one of the main reasons of kidney problems.
We should check our kidney every year so that we can remain alert to future health complications. We should keep in mind that prevention is better than cure.
