Killing of Palestinian children in Gaza must stop
November 21, 2023 00:00:00
Bangladesh has recently observed the World Children's Day by holding a number of programmes on November 20. This day is dedicated to the little ones who make our life enjoyable every day with their innocence. However, children's life is far from safe in many parts of the world. Their rights are often ignored. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one child is killed in Gaza every 10 minutes, and at least two are injured. Since about half of Gaza's population of about 2.2 million are children, they are easily targeted by Israel's carpet bombing.
Marking the World Children's Day, we should make a pledge to build a better world for children particularly for the Palestinian children.
