SEOUL, Sep 10 (AFP) North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has undergone surgery after suffering a minor stroke but his life is not in danger, a South Korean official told Yonhap news agency Wednesday. brThe reclusive Kim, 66, failed to appear Tuesday at a major parade marking the communist country's 60th anniversary, and a US intelligence official also said he may have suffered a stroke. brHis illness was not serious enough to threaten his life, the unidentified government official told Yonhap. brIt seems that he had intended to attend the September 9 event in the afternoon but decided not to because of the aftermath of the surgery. brSeoul government officials had no immediate on-the-record comment on the health of Kim, who is known to suffer from diabetes and heart problems.
