It was an explosive Indian Premier League final which was thoroughly enjoyed by the cricket lovers all around the world and at the end it was the sheer beauty of cricket which came out victorious. Yes, finally Shakib Al-Hasan's team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the thrilling high-scoring final match. The final was so close a game that it could have gone anywhere. Everyone was so tense that they could feel their throbbing pulse. W P Shaha of the Kings XI Punjab played a brilliant innings of 115 runs and he used only 55 balls and many had thought the fate of the final had been sealed. Shakib bowled a very economical spell in his stipulated four overs and gave away only 26 runs. But when KKR came to reply they were chasing a mammoth total of 200. The batting performance of captain Gautam Gambhir, Yousuf Pathan and Pandey made sure KKR win the match. At the end, Piyush Chawla's 13 in five balls made sure KKR supporters were not sunk in the disappointment. I, along with our whole neighbourhood, rejoiced when KKR lifted the trophy. However, I felt a tinge of sadness when I saw the sad face of Prity Zinta, the beautiful co-owner of Kings XI Punjab. My heartfelt congratulations for the team of Kolkata Knight Riders, especially Shakib Al-Hasan.
