Lack of playground stymies children's growth

The functions of educational institutions are currently confined solely to academic activities, with minimal opportunities for physical and mental development, as well as creative activities. The main reason behind this is the absence of dedicated playgrounds in many educational institutions, particularly in those under private management.
There was a time when school and college playgrounds were bustling with activity. Many newer educational institutions lack playgrounds, impeding the physical and mental growth of students.
Rural areas still boast playgrounds on educational institutions' campuses. However, these spaces are increasingly repurposed for different events. Illegal occupation of these fields for personal gains of vested quarters is depriving students of opportunities to play.
It is essential to recognise that not all playgrounds should serve public or private purposes exclusively. Additionally, efforts should prioritise the physical and mental development of students by introducing various types of physical activities that promote engagement in sports. This approach will nurture children to grow up freely and healthily.
