Lao communists vote to keep party chief

BANGKOK, Mar: The ruling communists of Laos have voted to keep their incumbent leader as party chief, the national news agency said on Monday, as their five-yearly congress came to a close. "The 9th Party Congress yesterday unanimously approved to re-elect Mr Choummaly Sayasone as the Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP)," the KPL agency said on its English-language website. -AFP
