Let us take care of our kidneys

June 08, 2015 00:00:00

The number of kidney patients is increasing in our country quite alarmingly. We should therefore be careful about the problem which often proves fatal. In case of kidney failure, one has to undergo dialysis. Kidney failure can happen suddenly or over a period of time slowly. Poor people have a difficult time as dialysis is quite an expensive method to purify our body artificially.

Dialysis is actually an artificial way to remove waste and unwanted water from our body. Kidneys do it naturally but when they stop functioning, the doctor does it artificially. In simple language, we can say that dialysis is an artificial way to keep kidneys functioning. We should therefore have our kidneys tested once every year so that if any problem occurs we can take early action and save ourselves from further trouble. About 10.0 per cent of the world's population have some sort of a kidney problem. So we must not ignore it and have regular check-ups in order to stay safe.
