Limiting private cars to prevent traffic congestion

October 29, 2017 00:00:00

MEDIA reports have it that the government of Singapore recently imposed restrictions on issuing registration of private cars to avoid traffic congestion. The government intends to bring about a reduction in the number of private cars and wants more people to travel by public transport. If we look around in our city, we see far too many private cars are plying on our roads and choking life out of us. The citizens should not be blamed for swelling number of private transports, as not enough public transports are in place for them. If public transport is improved, people will be discouraged to buy private cars. The experts are of the opinion that if the existing public transport is improved, number of private vehicles will automatically come down.
