Mainstreaming English medium students
August 16, 2022 00:00:00
English medium schools in Bangladesh often claim that they shape up their students with high standard of education. It also costs a lot to study in an English medium school. And very few people of our country can afford to send their children to such schools. After passing O/A levels, these students want to study abroad, but many families cannot afford it. So, they try to get their children admitted into good public universities or medical colleges in the country.
But then the problem arises. Only a few English medium students get chance in public universities. And they hardly get chance in the government medical colleges. The teachers of the English medium schools claim that their students fail in admission tests as these schools follow a different curriculum. But how long will it go on like this? The students of English medium schools also deserve to be admitted to the universities and colleges of their choice. If these schools are lacking, they must come forward with a solution.
