Making police verification easier for ensuring hassle-free passport

It is a common scenario that when a citizen wants to get a passport, he or she has to face a lot of hassles in the name of police verification in our country. So, when I heard that the Passport Department had forwarded a proposal to the Home Ministry to do away with the procedure of police verification, I was very glad.

But the police department opposed the proposal as it thinks the implementation of the proposal will weaken the security of our country and criminals would easily get passports. We know, in our country, it is easy for crooked people to get everything done very easily. Bribing for police verification has become a norm and a section of unscrupulous people are involved in it. We urge the prime minister to look into the matter so that the common people are saved from harassment and able to get their passports without any glitch.
