Photographs showing damaged road spikes were recently published in newspapers. This sort of initial problem needs to be tolerated; as it is the only way out to tackle the lawless traffic. Very often VIPs and other so-called important people's vehicles; that tend to ignore all traffic rules drive on the wrong traffic lane.
For developing the road spikes, I congratulate the innovative unknown technicians of Dholai Khal who devised this interesting traffic guard to stop dangerous practice and defiance of law. It is indeed an interesting innovation. Usually all such newly developed devices need field trials; and we should bear with the initial problems with some patience; and rather thank them for stopping the lawless and defiant motorists.
Maybe, in two or three months time, the problems will be solved and rectified. I would advise the makers to use  heat-treated alloy or high carbon steel for the knife like spikes; so that it is strong and tough enough to withstand the load of a fully laden vehicle; without being deformed, as visible in the picture. Maybe, in that case the material being more expensive, plus the cost of heat treatment, will increase the price of this device; but it will be well worth it. The same applies to any springs that are used for the device's operation. Finally, it was of interest to know, that the first transport that was trapped in the 'retractable spike' on the road was a lawmaker's vehicle.
