Mindless neglect to construction

Recently the Sunderban Hotel has been vacated completely as the adjacent  road suddenly caved in due to the faulty piling of a nearby building. We see around us that many construction companies do not follow safety rules that make people and establishments around vulnerable. This is sad and alarming. It is necessary that the concerned authority takes stern action against those who are guilty of such carelessness.

Experts say, piling of the under construction building collapsed due to the lack of proper iron bracing. Weak foundation is always dangerous particularly for us who are living in an earthquake prone zone. The recent deadly earthquake in Nepal which took away the lives of thousands of people is an eye opener for all.

We should therefore be all the more careful and construct buildings with proper safety measures. During the construction period, the builders must make sure they have complied with all safety requirements. The population of  Dhaka city is increasing and so is the number of high-rise buildings. In our country we have a tendency to overlook safety measures which prove often deadly and we forget that it is better to be careful a thousand times than being dead.
