Modernising public libraries

Once Old Dhaka used to have a number of libraries. And there were thousands of book-lovers, who used to visit those places every day. Now, these libraries have worn a deserted look. Only a few people still visit these places while many libraries are already closed down for renovation and for other reasons.

It is true that young people no longer want to visit libraries since they read news and books online. If we want to keep our libraries alive, we must update them technologically. The most important thing is the availability of necessary funding and measures to preserve the public libraries.
