More bridges needed in Banasree and Aftabnagar

April 04, 2026 00:00:00

The number of bridges over the canal in Banasree and Aftabnagar is clearly inadequate for the growing population of these areas. Every day, a large number of residents need to cross from one side to the other. However, due to the shortage of nearby bridges, people are often forced to take long and unnecessary detours. This not only wastes valuable time but also adds to daily inconvenience and hardship.

To ease the suffering of residents, more pedestrian bridges must be constructed. If these bridges are built at strategic points in a well-planned manner, people will be able to move more quickly and comfortably. Students, working individuals, and elderly citizens alike would greatly benefit from such improvements.

In urban planning, the efficient movement of people and the value of their time should be given due importance. Unfortunately, this issue is often overlooked. As a result, many are compelled to walk longer distances every day, which ultimately hampers the overall pace of city life. Therefore, the construction of adequate pedestrian bridges in Banasree and Aftabnagar is not only important but also urgent. Alongside temporary measures, permanent and safe structures should be prioritised.

It is hoped that the authorities concerned will take this matter seriously and act without delay.
