Narayanganj a city of fear and terror

Narayanganj has become a city of fear and terror. The kidnappers are directly backed by influential party people. Every businessman has to pay ransom or is being harassed in one way or another. The goods-laden trucks are intercepted when they go out of the town for delivery and the criminals openly ask for money. The businessmen have no other options but to pay.
A few days ago, I had a discussion with a small trader of Narayanganj who was lamenting that despite being a local person and having good connection with the ruling people, he too has to pay extortion. So, we can easily understand what happens to others.
The ruling party leaders must stop patronising criminals as it is isolating them completely from the common people. The common people of Narayanganj have been passing time in suffocation as the city has become a safe sanctuary for the criminals. The peace-loving people are gradually becoming agitated and any time a violent protest may break out against the criminals who have made their life hellish. The city has virtually turned to be a place of murders, disappearances and extortion.
I hope the government will intervene and bring law and order in this place and put all the well-known criminals behind the bar no matter how influential they might be. We should not forget that finally crimes don't pay.
