Need for more trained electricians

Electricity is an essential ingredient of life nowadays. Extension of power lines to urban and rural areas as well as to different organisations has been going on since 2010. No doubt it infused dynamism in the Bangladesh economy.

But along with extension of electricity, incidents of electrocution are on the rise as there are few trained electricians. We have lost many valuable lives during the last few years. Newspapers have been publishing such unfortunate accidents, which caused the death of many people. In many government polytechnic institutions, there are courses for electricians. Many electricians have come out from those institutes. But their number is not enough to meet the demand. In this backdrop, the Technical Education Board needs to make arrangements to expand training facilities for electricians on an urgent basis so that Bangladesh can have a good number of trained electricians.
