Need to address trauma

March 31, 2020 00:00:00

The crisis of Covid-19 will be over one day but it will leave serious impacts on healthcare system, economy and psyche of a generation. Physicians, paramedics and other emergency service providers who are witnessing fear and uncertainties in dealing with Covid-19 cases cannot easily forget. However, the most important task now is to face the situation bravely.

The Financial Express reported on Monday that Dhaka city's healthcare services for non-corona patients have come to almost a halt due to abrupt absence of doctors for staying home to prevent contracting new coronavirus. Also, emergency medical hotline service providers, which manage appointment of specialised doctors, have stopped their operations. Common people should be assured that they would be properly taken care of in time of the ongoing crisis.
