New drugs to eradicate breast and skin cancer
September 13, 2025 00:00:00
Recently, scientists have developed a new drug that shows promise in eradicating breast and skin cancer, opening up a new horizon in the treatment of this deadly disease. This innovative therapy, known as immunotherapy, is being hailed as potentially far more effective than conventional chemotherapy and radiation, offering renewed hope for patients. Unlike traditional treatment, which often causes severe side effects, immunotherapy not only targets the spread of cancer but also significantly reduces collateral damage to healthy cells. This is being considered a milestone in the history of medical science.
The newly developed drug, called CD40 2141-V11, is a monoclonal antibody that can be injected directly into tumours. When administered at a specific dosage, it is designed to destroy cancer-causing tumour cells. Researchers at Rockefeller University in the United States report encouraging results in patients with breast, skin, and prostate cancer. Initial trials on 12 cancer patients showed that tumours in six patients stopped growing, and in two cases, cancer was completely eradicated.
Clinical trials of CD40 2141-V11 are ongoing, and researchers remain optimistic. If proven effective on further trials, this therapy could revolutionise treatment for breast cancer, melanoma, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer, giving millions of patients around the world new hope.
