New TIN number

The finance minister, NBR chairman, and other senior officers of the NBR continue to give advice regarding income tax payment. Alongside, income tax fairs are organised every year in many cities. Unfortunately the harassments by the tax officials have not made any improvement.

I did receive a dozen notices from the income tax department, but it took a lengthy process to resolve. One of them was regarding use of old TIN. The authority says, they have published the new format in the media.

It would have been correct if NBR or their agents could send the new TIN certificates through post or courier services to old TIN number holders. It may also be made mandatory for all income tax lawyers to collect new TIN certificates from the authority and send those to their clients.
