No end to rape incidents
October 26, 2020 00:00:00
The rate and barbaric nature of rape cases has prompted a wave of protests across Bangladesh in recent times. And the government has introduced death penalty for rapists. However, unfortunately, such measures could not stop rape incidents.
The media reported rape of a 16-year-old schoolgirl allegedly by yet another powerful local leader in Narsingdi. In fact, rapists have no fear of law.We can only hope that the law enforcement agencies will arrest the culprit as soon as possible. Social resistance and official measures in a concerted manner may eventually help address this crime.
