Nursing education in Bangladesh

May 25, 2018 00:00:00

Nursing is a vital discipline for a country regardless of its development status. Sadly, the nursing profession was not given due importance in Bangladesh for a long time both before and after liberation although it is a part and parcel of modern medical services. With increasing hospitals and clinics, nurses and nursing services at present have come under increased focus. Nursing is a noble, humanitarian and multifaceted profession. Nurses master a variety of clinic skills to take care of patients of all ages with a multitude of health issues. We know from our experience that a patient is half cured by continued and consistent love and care of the nurses. As more graduate women come in the nursing sector, female unemployment problem will be largely solved. Growth of those jobless or a low employment growth haunts the economy and if we can produce more nurses by spreading more nursing education throughout the country, skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled health service-related workforce will be developed. It is a job-oriented education and has huge potentials to absorb and employ more unemployed youths - especially young educated girls in this sector. There is a heavy demand for skilled, smart and educated nurses in different hospitals, clinics and doctor's chambers all over the world.
