Nurturing youth entrepreneurship -
September 27, 2024 12:00:00
Youth entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in addressing Bangladesh's rising unemployment. With a significant proportion of the population under the age of 30, the country has immense potential to harness the creativity and passion of its youth to drive economic growth. However, young people often face disadvantages such as limited access to capital, inadequate training, and a lack of mentoring, all of which hinder their ability to start their own businesses. To realise the full potential of youth entrepreneurship, these challenges must be addressed.
Youth entrepreneurship fosters economic diversity and innovation, both of which are essential for the nation's sustained development. Young entrepreneurs are often at the forefront of introducing new technologies and developing innovative solutions to local problems.
Both government and private sector as well as educational institutions must collaborate to create an environment that supports young entrepreneurs. This includes providing access to financial resources, establishing mentorship programmes, and incorporating entrepreneurial education into school curricula. By investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs, Bangladesh can ensure its prosperity and foster economic growth that benefits all its citizens.
