On friendship day

Friends are a very important part of our life as they are always with us no matter what the situation is. One may have many friends, but the number of close friends is always a few and they remain friends forever. Still, I enjoy the company of my school friends and thanks to the technology and Facebook, I have reconnected myself with many of my friends who were out of contact until recently. The heavenly feeling of meeting the old friends is priceless. It rejuvenates and re-energizes us.
The world celebrates the international friendship day every year on the first Sunday of August and the youth of our country celebrate the day with more vigour and enthusiasm. But for me friendship is much more than celebrations and rituals. I am lucky that I have a few friends in my life and apart from one I am in contact with everybody but one. I am still trying to contact the lost friend and I hope one day I will find him again. The great Greek philosopher Aristotle said, in poverty and other misfortunes in life, true friends are a sure refuge. No one can disagree with that.
