One-tenth of our population is suffering from kidney problems

The number of kidney patients in our country is increasing alarmingly and we need to ensure food safety and drive out chemical laden food items from our market. The government should strictly enforce laws on food safety. The criminals who are edging our population towards a slow and painful death, should not be spared. We are already facing a lot of health hazards due to lack of food safety measures. It is true that the government has taken some positive steps in this direction, but there is still a long way to go. The food staff flowing into the market must be totally chemical free. Health is the most important wealth of a human being. If one does not have a sound health, he/she cannot have a happy life. Uncontrolled diabetes, overweight, painkiller drugs, high blood pressure and adulterated foods are the main reasons behind kidney failure. The responsibility to ensure unadulterated food items lies with the government. But people also have a role to play in this respect. The common people should not suffer due to negligence or lack of attention of the supervising and controlling authorities of the government. It is indeed alarming that around 10.0 per cent of our total populations are suffering from kidney problems and urgent steps must be taken to stem the rot.
