When you go around Chattogram city, you will find a number of manholes, which are uncovered. Besides, there are many places, where you will find open drains. These manholes and drains have over the years caused many avoidable deaths. Drug addicts and thieves are believed to be behind the many uncovered manholes, as they steal the lids of those manholes.
The authorities must give a serious attention to this theft and make sure that every manhole is covered, especially during rain when the roads are submerged under water and the passers-by do not know that they are stepping into an open manhole.
