Over 500 residents displaced by landslides in western Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 19 (Xinhua): More than 500 residents of Baglung district in western Nepal have been displaced from the flood and landslides triggered by the heavy rain that took place last week, the National News Agency, RSS reported on Thursday.
Some of the displaced locals are residing in their relative's house and a majority of them are staying in some primary schools, said Mohan Lal Sharma, central member and former chairperson of All Nepal Peasants Association who has recently returned following the direct inspection of the site, some 180 km west of Kathmandu.
According to the RSS, Nepal Red Cross Society has provided clothes and utensils to the displaced while Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry has provided foods to them.
There has been a shortage of water in the disaster area and infrastructures of electricity and irrigation cannel have turned to be ruins.
